For more than 100 years
| More than 100 years
ago, in 1904, the great grandfather of the current owner, Thomas
Berger, founded a business in Duisburg for the production of
signs, carved writing made of wood, as well as rolling awnings
as façade elements.
The sons took over the business, which flourished and continued to develop.
Wilhelm Berger, the grandson of the founder and father of the present owner,
also worked in the company from 1950.

After 20 years he then founded his own company in Rheinberg. Wooden signs and
rolling
awnings were no longer the main fields of business at this
time already. The company rather
became well-known as “Neon-Berger“.
| The first hall was built in Kamp-Lintfort
in 1984 and the sons Thomas and Frank joined the company – in
the 4th generation – after completing their vocational training.
With new ideas, hard work and commitment they ensured a further
boost for the business.
In 1992 Thomas and Frank Berger took over shares and responsibility as managing
directors – then four years later – when their father retired – the whole company.
Frank Berger left the company as of 31 December 2002. Thomas Berger took over
his brother’s shares and since this time has been the driving
force and sole managing director of the company.
The company “Metallbau van den Berg“ in Dülmen, which was also owned by Thomas
Berger and through which mainly the field of façade and metal
construction was operated, was amalgamated with Berger GmbH
in 2007. The Dülmen location was given up for reasons of efficiency
and the production relocated to Kamp-Lintfort.
